Wobbly kitten spotted struggling to cat in family garden given furever home safe from circling predators

Coming across a family of feral kittens in your back yard is no easy thing to deal with, but when one of those kittens presents as a wibbly wobbly kitten who is barely able to cat, well, that is a whole different kettle of fish. And that is how our story begins with the appearance of a momma cat and her two babies, one of which had obvious problems standing up, walking and running. Though it was obvious that the feline's difficulties were not born of injures, it was not clear as to what actually was the cause of its physical difficulties. Initially our fur friendly family kept their distance, solely feeding the tiny felines as and when they came to visit. But soon things would change when the healthy kitten of the two suddenly stopped showing up. This was cause for concern seeing as their area was full of predators that could easily scoop up a healthy kitten, let alone a slow to move one. So when it was clear that danger was in the air, that is when our hooman protagonist stepped in to give this special kitten a furever home safe from the dangers of the outside world.

Now, we would like to take a moment to appreciate how delicate a situation this actually was. For those who know it is obvious that the last thing you ever do is separate a kitten from their mother, especially at such an early stage. It is critical for their development and emotional regulation. Which is why our rescuer did not do anything at first as it was obvious that momma cat was on top of the situation and handling the care of her special baby as well as her neurotypical one. But the moment that it became clear that danger had encroached upon their lives it was time to throw the rule book out of the window and step in.

It highlights the fact that while rules are in place for a reason and are important to follow, it is equally important to know when to ignore them and do what feels right. Because in that moment you will often find that you are saving someone's or in this case a cat's life. So the next time you are faced with such a situation we hope you will feel better equipped to save the cat in question after having read this story.

  • Oh goodness, that must have been one of the most heartbreaking things to see and for momma cat to have to handle. From the moment this kitten was born she likely knew that he was not fated to survive as a feral feline roaming the mean streets in search of city sushi. Though what is a little strange is that even with said understanding this momma cat did not simply ditch her baby. She actually kept carrying him around and even brought him to this feline loving family. An act which goes against the very tenets of survival of the fittest.

  • Wow, what a stroke of luck for this tiny floof. Sadly, it really does sound as though this fluff ball is the lone survivor of his litter. It happens all too often in the animal kingdom that vulnerable and innocent young, no matter their physical or mental fitness are preyed upon by the predators of this world. Without the guidance and pawtection of their pawrents there is little to stop a hawk from swooping in and snatching them. We can only imagine that the CDS had a hand in saving this sweet creature and ensuring that he will live out the rest of his days full of love and tasty treats.
